It’s been awhile since we dropped a news story onto the blog and you guys maybe wondering what the heck we’re up to?! Don’t sweat, I’m here to fill you in so you’re all up-to-date with the behind the scenes activities here at HQ.
Maybe we could call it GTHQ instead, although we don’t want that acronym to get confused with GCHQ!
Anyway, cyber security aside, we’ve been working away to improve the site for you all, front and backend – even improving our internal processes which I’ll discuss later on.
We’re always making minor tweaks to help improve the site but I’ll focus on the main changes we’ve made and new features added to the site.
Design Resources
We’ve noticed there’s a lack of great designer resources out there and by resources we mean the physical stuff you need to get started as a designer. So we’re putting a stop to that today with our free designer resources page that’s full of useful links to things you’ll need that will help you get started as an artist.
It also includes things you’ll need if you want to improve, especially if you’ve been making art already for a number of years. The page only contains links to resources that we use now or have in the past, so that way we know all the links are top quality and useful to you. We never get paid to feature anyone’s work and this is no different.

T-shirt Submissions
Next thing we’ve done is improving a few things internally, to improve the speed we approve t-shirt designs into the voting platform.
We’ve managed to create a process that handles a lot of the work automatically, but basically when you submit a design to us, it’ll be added to the voting platform much faster so people can start voting!
The voting platform has got rather big over the last few months. We’ve been happily overwhelmed with the number of different artists submitting t-shirts designs to us and the number of votes cast on the platform reflects the continued support.
As the size has grown, we’ve changed what happens to older designs. To keep things fresh and help keep new submissions from not getting lost, we’ve started to set a few deigns that haven’t reached 30 votes as expired. These designs are toughs that have been on the voting platform for over 6 months and have less then 10 votes. Not all designs will become expired once they reach this period, we’re just seeing how it goes for now.
Putting Your Feedback into Action
We’ve started to ask for people’s feedback on the site, to help improve what we do to make the site better for everyone. As we’re collecting this feedback we’ll be taking action to make sure the site is how you want it.
At the end of the day this site was built for you, not us, so allowing our member’s to call the shots makes much more sense. So if you’ve got any feedback, comments, suggestions, bugs, please do let us know. Over the coming months we’ll be rolling out the new features you guys have requested so stay tuned for that!
Facebook T-shirt Voting
I’m going to finish off with Facebook t-shirt voting. I am going to keep this a little cryptic for now to see if you guys can work it out. Some of you sharp-eyed users may have already spotted it, but all i am going to say is, check out our Facebook page, like the page and see if you can work out what i am talking about.
