As we often feature the work of Photography, Illustration and Graphic Design on our inspirational blog posts, we wanted to publish a brand new ‘Painting Inspiration’, so it lets you see a different part of art, which many regard as the origin of art itself.
We still believe painting is at the front of what makes art great, as you can tackle interesting and captivating subjects, make eye catching imagery with the use of fantastic colours, and make art which is visually stunning.
In today’s painting inspiration blog post, we’re showcasing amazing photographic work of Chuck Close, Aldo Katayanagi’s crazy digital artworks, and Bill Bate’s lovely figurative paintings.
Chuck Close is an absolute favourite of mine, just for his workmanship and how he can make a painting look so realistic. Focusing on portrait painting, Close has captured the essence of portrait painting excellently, and has brought in new techniques, ways of working, and has added contemporary elements to his pieces. If you haven’t seen Chuck Close’s work before, prepare to be amazed!
We also look at the work of Aldo Katayanagi, who creates weird and wonderful paintings, which are such a joy to look through! Mainly working in digital painting, Katayanagi has created a portfolio which is bursting with colour, attraction and great appeal. His technique is clear to see, and we love the way he uses expressive marks to produce his art.
The last painter we want to talk about is Bill Bate who graduated from Central School of Art London (now known as Central Saint Martins), whose work blows us away! He creates pieces of art which are bursting with atmosphere and character, and we love the way he subtly represents figures within this paintings, fantastic!
I hope you enjoy these paintings, be sure to check out more of their portfolio by clicking on the images below, they have a lot more to offer!
