One of nature’s most powerful forces, lightning has dramatic and unpredictable results. Varying colours, lengths and forks makes for stunning photography. One of the biggest challenges for photographers when capturing the perfect lightning shot is making sure the timing is perfect. Lightning strikes can flash before your eyes so setting the camera’s shutter speed to the correct amount is critical to capture the strike at it’s peak. Also it’s essential the photo isn’t overexposed and isn’t full of noise. There are various handy gadgets to aid you in your captures, which trigger when the flash is detected but a healthy amount of patience is also required.
