You can't believe how much I relate to this piece of artwork. For over forty years I was an environmental activist trying to save the ancient old growth forests of Eastern Australia. We ran letter writing stall, held protest rallies, built tripods over the road to block logging trucks. Put tree climbers in trees around logging compartments. All to try and save trees that reached over 80 metres in height and some that aged from 600 to 2000 years old. The effort was endless and sometimes exhausting as we were often attacked and sometime locked up. To prove that sometimes the impossible can be achieved, we managed to save up to 1.2 million hectares of this forest and created over 100 new National Parks. This artwork impressing me very much as sometimes I felt like the person shown here. Cheers Geoff Thomson
